Introduction
For many years we are hearing about SNC Lavalin, Pinarayi Vijayan, G. Karthikeyan and Malabar Cancer Centre from the Media. So what is the case, what are the facts, how it will affect people of Kerala, finally Politicians would get Punished? Here I'm trying to answer many questions.
History
Pallivasal, Sengulam, Panniyar hydroelectric Projects were renovated by Canadian SNC Lavalin Company. The Project cost a total of 374.5 Crore INR. The renovation works were started around 1996. The total Electricity production before renovation was around 115.5 mW. After renovation the production remains unchanged. So this Project made KSEB a huge loss of money. (Actually the Project proposal was rejected from CEA- Central Electricity Authority). So according to CAG the SNC Lavalin Company is only a Consultancy Company. If the project is given to direct company KSEB can have much more benefits. Mr. Pinarayi Vijayan (First CPI(M) Polit Beuro Member who accused for a corruption case) himself signed the documents in Canada without consulting the related Engineers.
The Project discussion was started at the time of UDF Government. At that time the Minister for Electricity and Power was Mr. G. Karthikeyan. So he also included in this scandal (According to the CBI team)
How Malabar Cancer Centre Involved
For huge profitable projects like this we're receiving a part of the profit from the companies as a donation for charity. This is a Government policy and we're following since long ago. In this project the Lavalin company promised to give 98.3 crores INR to Malabar Cancer Centre. But this dealing was not included in the agreement rather they offered orally. In fact the Cancer Centre didn't receive the promised money from the Lavalin Company.
Final Conclusions
CBI were not able to find the evidence against Mr. Pinarayi Vijayan to prove that he makes money by this project. CBI will enquire whether the Politicians make illegal or corruption money by this Project and not about technical loss of money. So all the Politicians will easily can escape from this case without being punished.
So Finally 374.5 Crore was lost to the Government of Kerala. So as usual Who Cares Money of Common People.
